Aero-modelling
Aircraft models are scaled down versions of full size planes. Constructing and flying them is a popular hobby since the 1930s. It involves constructing small air planes using light materials such as balsa wood, foam and fibreglass. A vast array of designs is possible, from very simple gliders, to highly accurate scale models, some of which are very large. Models may be built either as static non-flying models, or as flying models. Construction techniques for the two are usually very different.
Aero-modelling is a captivating sport or hobby, but at the same time quite expensive and affordable to only a few. As of today, only the NCC cadets have access to the radio controlled flying models.
AASF has courses in static, flying and radio controlled models. We have on our board, an aero model enthusiast and manufacturer, Mr. Madhav Khare. Our aero-modelling workshop covers every aspect of aero-modelling, including radio control, free flight, control line, and static.
AASF intends to make aero-modelling accessible to all genuine aficionados by making it an affordable activity. |
